Once you have completed your animal application, a status will appear to indicate where your application is at in the OurPetPolicy process. Please note that your animal will not be automatically verified the second you submit your application.
For information about the animal application timeline, please head here.
On the OurPetPolicy dashboard, under the ‘animal’ tab, you will be able to see the status of your animal. Here are two common examples:
Verified, moved in ESA:
Not verified, pending ESA:
Below are the definitions of different status types you may see on your animal profile.
Pending and Not Verified - An animal with a pending/not verified status is one that the OurPetPolicy team is still in the process of reviewing and verifying. In some cases, there may be missing requirements that need to be fulfilled. It is important to ensure that all necessary information on your animal profile is complete.
OurPetPolicy will inform you of any specific information that is missing. The verification process takes time, so please do not be alarmed if your animal profile is not immediately verified and approved after submission.

Pending and Verified - This status applies only to standard pets. A standard pet may be verified by the OurPetPolicy team, meaning we have reviewed and confirmed all the submitted information. However, the pet may still be pending if the property manager has not yet marked the pet as approved.
Once the property manager approves the animal, it will be labeled as a “Future Animal” if the move-in date has not yet occurred, or “Moved In” if the move-in date has arrived.
Moved In and Verified - Your animal application is complete, has been verified by OurPetPolicy and approved.
For ESAs and service animals, OurPetPolicy handles both verification and approval. For standard household pets, OurPetPolicy verifies the information, and the property manager gives the final approval.
Conditionally Approved/Moved In and Verified - In some cases, an animal may be verified by OurPetPolicy and conditionally approved or moved in for a specific period, based on certain conditions. Once the allotted time for conditional approval has passed, the specified conditions must be met for the animal to be considered fully approved.
In the event of a conditional approval, the timeline and conditions will be clearly communicated to the applicant/resident and property management.
Retracted - If you have retracted your animal application, the animal profile will be marked as "Retracted" in your OurPetPolicy portal. The reason for the retraction will be displayed to provide further context.
Moved Out - If an animal has been marked as moved out by yourself or your property manager, it will be indicated as "Moved Out" in your OurPetPolicy profile. The reason for moving out the animal will be displayed to provide further context.
